We believe that the Scriptures of the
Old and New Testaments are the divinely inspired Word of God. The Holy Spirit
superintended the writing of the Bible so as to ensure its accuracy. Gods Word is
the only infallible guide for faith and practice.
We believe that there is one God,
eternally existing in three persons: the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. These three members
of the Trinity are equal in power and glory.
We believe Jesus Christ was conceived
by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, and is both God and man. We believe that He
lived a perfect life while on this earth, and died as a sinless sacrifice for the sins of
the world. We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in His
ascension into heaven, and in His present ministry there as our High Priest and Advocate.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, who
indwells all believers and empowers for holy living those who are yielded to Him. We
believe the Holy Spirit is the One who convicts of sin and who regenerates the believer.
We believe the Holy Spirit sovereignly distributes the gifts of the Spirit to His people.
We believe that man was created in the
image of God, that he sinned and, in so doing, incurred not only physical death but also
spiritual death; that is, separation from God. We believe that all people are sinners by
nature and by choice.
We believe that people are justified,
or declared righteous, by grace through faith, on the basis of the shed blood of Christ.
All who receive Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord are born again of the Holy Spirit, and
receive eternal life.
We believe in the universal church, the
living spiritual body, of which Christ is the head and consisting of all who have placed
their faith in Christ. We believe that God has ordained the local church as the primary
mission agency during this time period.
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ
has committed two ordinances to the church: baptism and the Lords Supper. We believe
in baptism by immersion and communion open to all believers.
We believe in the personal, bodily
return of our Lord Jesus Christ, the resurrection of the body, the final judgment, the
eternal blessing of the righteous and the endless suffering of the wicked.
